Methods to Segments

You can find various tools to create segments on the header. Here’s a list of the different segmentation tools we offer:

1. Floodfill

  • This selection technique allows users to select a patch with similar colored pixels in just a click.

  • The user also has the control to increase or decrease the selected patch by clicking and dragging the cursor in different directions.

  • When you press Enter, the highlighted area gets filled with the color of the selected class.

2. Paintbrush

  • This segmentation technique allows users to paint on the image with the color given to a selected class.

  • You can increase or decrease the brush size to segment objects of varying sizes.

3. Polygon

  • The polygon tool allows you to create an enclosed shape around an object with straight connecting lines.

4. Paint Bucket

  • Use the Paint Bucket tool to fill an empty area with a specific color using a single click.

5. AI Assistance

  • This tool feature allows you to segment complex shapes quickly with AI Assistance.

  • After selecting the AI Assistance tool, mark four points around the object that requires segmentation in the order mentioned below:

    • Top-most point

    • Right-most point

    • Bottom-most point

    • Left-most point

Press Enter to segment the object after plotting the above 4 points.

6. Eraser

  • Normal Eraser: This is a round brush eraser

  • Polygon Eraser: This is used to mark an area like the polygon tool and erase the portion enclosed within it.

How to Start Segmenting?

  • The right sidebar has a list of pre-configured classes (with and without instances).

  • Enable segment creation by selecting a class and a segmentation method from the header.

  • One effective way to segment is to mark objects closest to farthest from you.

What is 'Draw on Top'?

  • Toggle on the 'Draw on top' icon to create segments over pre-segmented areas.

  • It gives you the control to override segments when needed.

Control Class Visibility

  • You can hide or see a specific class on the canvas by toggling the 'Eye' icon.

  • Double-click a segment to hide all segments except that selected class. The feature helps you focus on one segment while checking a complex shape. You can get the same result by double-clicking the 'Eye' icon; it usually locates a segmented class in an intricately segmented image.

  • You can also delete segments from a specific class by clicking the 'Bin' icon.

Use to make the image quality clearer if required.
